Good, but LOUD 2010-08-24 |
| By supawako |
Looks slick, cool and attaches to the car visor above your head perfectly. Easy to use and links to your bluetooth enabled phone automatically without a hitch. The only problem was being too loud even at the lowest setting. I tried lowering the volume both on the speaker and phone. Even contacted Jabra and they didn't have a software update to lower the volume.
I returned it to the seller (UnlockedCellPhoneKings) and was refunded the price + shipping promptly. I would recommend and purchase from seller again.
The Jabra SP700 is perfect if you're a bit hard of hearing or drive with your windows down all the time. OR, this is something I realized AFTER returning the item but i didn't try putting some tape over the speaker... but than again, you would lose that "cool-looking" factor. |
Happy in Corona 2010-08-22 |

| I was compelled to write this review regarding my recent purchase of the Jabra SP700 because I have been very happy with the product since purchasing it 1 month ago. I use it in my car in order to comply with the California law regarding cell phone use in cars; it has been great. The volume is more than adequate, and I especially love the voice narration. The speakerphone gives you verbal confirmation that you have "Connected" when using your cell phone; when the "Power Off" feature has been activated; when the "Call Ended", etc. |
Great handsfree, no so good fm transmitter! 2010-05-15 |
| By Romero (Costa Rica) |
I bought this set for two reasons:
1)Needed a bluetooth hands free. One you could use with putting in you ear.
2)Wanted to transmit the calls from the handsfree to the radio, using the fm transmitter.
This set works great in several ways, it easy to connect to your phone, and easy to use when driving. Its just one big button to answer, hang up, and re-dial calls, thast nice when driving, you just rise your hand and push the button with out watching it, you never take your eyes off the road.
Now, what I didnt like was the FM transmitter. Againg, its easy to use, just one button to activate it on and off, but the quality of the sound you hear isnt as great as other FM transmitters. Sometimes the signal on the radio went off and you hear nothing more than static and you need to relocate the speakerphone in your car, sometimes moving it a few cm was enough.
The sound it gives works great for calls, but if want to listen music just with the speakerphone its terrible, a lot of noise.
The microphone is great, it transmit your voices without external noise, great sound quality.
Pros:
1) Easy to use when driving.
2) Easy to connect via bluetooth.
3) Works fine when NOT connected to radio via the FM transmitter
4) Good Battery life, 2 weeks give or take.
Cons:
1) Not so good sound quality on radio via the FM transmitter.
2) Music on the speakerphone sound terrible. |
Not much could be worse 2010-05-10 |
| By Mopar Seven (Grand Rapids, MI USA) |
We've owned two of these for about 6 months now and both are just plain awful. The first issue is that it rarely connects to the phone the first time when turning it on. Usually I have to dial a number from the phone first to get it to work which defeats the purpose of hands free. The voice recognition is the worst I've ever used. My wife has the second unit in her car and she agrees. One example is that no matter how I pronounce the number 4 it always interprets it as 7. That's amazing considering those two words sound nothing alike.
The other problem is that when you receive a call, be careful not to hold the call button a nanosecond too long or you'll hang up on the caller. When trying to make a call you're supposed to press and hold the call button until you hear the tone. So far so good..then you wait...and wait....and wait...and then finally hear "Say a command" at which point you're supposed to say "Call." Well, it actually will make the call only about 50% of the time and then as mentioned above, Lord help you if there's a 4 in the number. It does a little better with name recognition, but not always. I asked for Karen and got Bob...it's sometimes like having an argument with a senile person. The only thing that's good about this unit is that the battery lasts a long time and it comes with a home charger adapter.
Bottom line....go with a Motorola..any Motorola or a Parrot.

Jabra SP700 2010-05-01 |
| By ca |
| Have to agree with most of the others. It is great as a speakerphone, but the FM transmitter needs work. I bought it as a bulk pack and went to the Jabra site for instructions. Had difficulty actually getting my stereo tuned in to 106.9. When using the FM option the static often breaks throught the call. Otherwise, easy to use, portable, uses the same charger as my GPS, so no big deal. Has a long battery life, so I just bring it in sometimes for an overnight charge. Worth the money vs. others. On speakerphone, call clarity is great and I like hearing "call ended" so I know the line is not still open. |
