Bluetooth Headphones that work pretty good... not great 2010-09-07 |
| By P. D. Moser (Tatooine, Outer Rim) |
I have been using these headphones with my Moto Droid and they work okay...
They fit great - very comfortable and ergonomic.
To say they are stylish is a stretch, but they are well designed.
The sound is okay. Cuts out intermittently, which is highly annoying ... could be issue with Bluetooth in headset, not with phone (have JawBone and works great).
If you are planning on doing anything louder than vacuuming, the volume is not sufficient.
If you are using them while mowing, don't attempt to listen to podcasts or anything that requires comprehension (listening to music, while mowing, is barely loud enough to disseminate songs, barely... )
No charger included, USB only. Needs to be better way to charge. And it's not a generic USB charger. It's specific to the device - using another USB cord to charge is not possible.
You know... after writing this review, I am reconsidering my 3 stars... 2.5 would be more accurate. $100 (with shipping) was too much to spend on these head phones. Fifty bucks would be more appropriate, and that might be too much.
WAIT! I spent a hundred bucks on these things?
2.25 stars. |
Complete Junk 2010-09-02 |
| By JB (PA) |
Recieved first pair of headphones. No sound from left ear. Took them off and the left ear piece litterally fell off no wires attached. Figured okay maybe someone bought and returned them, then resold them to me. I exchanged for another pair which arrived the very next day.
Paired the second set with my iphone. Sound worked in both ears and sounded really good. Took them off to swivel the ear piece and the right ear piece fell off and wires came detached.
Pure garbage. Do Not Buy Jay Bird SB2. |
I returned it 2010-08-30 |

1. TERRIBLE sound isolation! I was listening to Kill the Lights (a Britney Spears song) at half volume, but people still heard it, and gave me weird looks. (Dealbreaker.)
2. Great sound quality. (When Bluetooth is working.) Sound is very clear and defined.
3. Ridiculously uncomfortable. My ears start hurting from the pressure after about 20 minutes. On top of that, they fall off!! If your head isn't completely vertical, they will fall onto the floor. (Dealbreaker.)
4. Bluetooth stutters, even when my iPhone 4 and the headset were within feet of each other, and both were at full charge, and the iPhone's WiFi was off. (And I know the problem isn't the iPhone, because Bluetooth music streaming between the iPhone and my Prius works fine!)
5. They are, admittedly, kinda sexy-looking. But the foam earpads look cheesy and the buttons on the left earpiece are completely for show - they don't work. Plus, as I mentioned in #1, the sexiness is immediately negated if you're listening to an embarrassing song.
6. These are NOT worth $100. I'd pay $50 tops.
After I submit this review, I am going to print the shipping label to return these headphones to Amazon. I quite simply HATE them.
Maybe next time, Jaybird! |
Worth it... 2010-08-27 |

I bought these for my girlfriend, as her old headphones were pretty much dead. She has an iTouch and does quite a bit of running. Her old headphones were wired, in-ear, headband style. She liked the headband style, but didn't like the in-ear. Sweat would get constantly get into them and short out the ear pieces, not to mention that the in-ear design would hurt her ears.
After looking around, these were one of two i was considering (the other was wired). I decided I wanted to get her a wireless set, as the iTouch has Bluetooth. After about 3 months of use, I'm glad I got her these. She loves the wireless, and they are so much more comfortable than the in ear. I've used them once or twice, and I have to say that the sound is amazing (FYI - I like my music as much as the next guy, but I'm no audiophile). Also, the battery life on these is awesome. She really doesn't charge them at all, just turns them off when not in use.
Her only problems with them are that the foam ear pieces get sweaty (which according to her isn't really an issue, just an observation), and although they stay in place while running, have a tendency to move or even fall off when doing weights, especially on the bench. However, according to her these 'issues' are written off by how much she loves them. One other thing that I was disappointed about: I wanted a pouch for these so that they wouldn't get ruined in her gym bag, and I was a little disappointed that I had to purchase it separately.
So, in conclusion:
Pros:
- Comfortable
- Great Sound
- Secure (while running)
Cons:
- Sweaty ear pieces
- Tendency to fall off while lifting weights
- Doesn't come with a pouch (purchased separately)
Overall, we are both very satisfied with this. I'll probably be getting myself a pair as well! As a user of these, my girlfriend is very happy, and it solves all the problems she had with her old set. As a purchaser, I'm glad that the money was well spent. :-) |
jaybird headset 2010-08-22 |

| i run with these also and they work well. i bought the jaybird app for my iphone and itouch so i can forward tracks and rewind. i just wish they were tighter on my head. if i look up or down they have a tendency to slide. very easy to use and link up with phone and i touch. love being without wires. i've tried a lot of cordless headsets. the jaybird 200, motorola s9, sony, and logtech. jaybirds seem to be it so far. just bought my mom a set of plantronics backbeat. we'll see what she thinks of them. so far the sweat has not bothered my sportsband. on my second pair of jaybird 200 and the light is not working correctly, not sure what's up with that. |
