I have the droid phone and enjoy the docking station. It is as advertised and works well. I use the docking station mostly to charge the phone, but use the clock as well. I own an RV and will take this docking station to use in the coach when I need an alarm clock. I highly recommend this device for the Droid phone.

Good place to "park" and charge your Droid and maybe replace your alarm clock. Nice multi-media functions too, especially if you connect the output jack to good speakers or headphones. Have had mine for over four months now, with no reliability problems at all.

Biggest drawback, in my opinion, is its failure to accommodate Droids with protective case shells. The could put a little more room in the back to allow a case, but failed to do so. I have to take the back of my case off each time I use my cradles, and it's a pain, even though my case back is easier to remove than most. The price could be a bit lower too, especially with the case-unfriendly design glitch.

I have two of these docks - one in bedroom, and one at office - but sure wish they'd accommodate Droid cases!

I'm not sure why they call it a "multimedia" dock - it's really just a charging station and display holder. Putting your phone in it activates a special clock/weather station that's pretty cool (but can also be activated through software on the Android market).

For anyone else wondering if the cheaper one fulfilled by the OEM shop has everything, it does. It's a fully retail version with the box, all accessories. So you get a dock, a charger cable (the same that came with the phone), a AC/USB converter (same that came with the phone), and way more instructions than you should need.

I just purchased the Droid and also bought the docking station. I didn't know about any of its features, just knew that I liked the docking station I have at work for my Blackberry Curve

I'm a fan of the phone, but i'm a huge fan of it WITH the docking station. From my perspective, here are some pros/cons:

PROS:
1) WEATHER! I always forget to check the weather before leaving in the morning, this is a good reminder.
2) Docking Home View - I like the big font of the clock, the weather, and easy access to music, alarms, and pictures. The brightness control is very convenient.
3) Cleaner look and easier to use than messy wires.
4) I like the horizontal docking - more compact than a vertical dock, less likely to get knocked over or have the Droid broken off in the charger
5) I got the docking station for about $30 off when I bought it with the Droid at the Verizon store. I don't know if this was a special offer or a common discount? Helpful to keep in mind, however - would recommend buying with the phone if there is a discount!

CONS:
1) Annoying that the home/search/back buttons are sideways along the right side of the phone while docked
2) I can understand the brightness concerns of previous reviews, although I'm not using it in a dark room
3) If you're docking in the dark, it's a little annoying to determine if you're docking it upside-down
4) The cord is REALLY short. Agreed with previous reviewers on this point. I have an outlet centrally located behind my headboard on my queen-sized bed. The cord barely reached the nightstand.

NOTE - I have a screen protector on the phone and it still docks without an issue, but I can see how it would be annoying to take a case off the phone every time you want to charge it. I had an iPod docking station that wouldn't charge with the case on, and it was a pain to use.

All in all - I think that the docking station is a big part of the reason I like this phone so much. I would definitely recommend buying the docking station if you are purchasing the Droid!

This really comes in handy if you sit at desk and want to charge your phone, listen to you tunes or need an alarm clock. Well built and small enough to take along with you when you travel.
